Deleted invoice in Data File Display & Maintenance

I have a very old MAS 90 version 3.4, my boss never had the money to upgrade and I made a huge mistake. I went into Library Master-Data File Display and Maintenance-ar4001, then looked up an invoice I needed to delete from my A/R that was over 10 years old. I did that but now I cannot run period end and I don't know how to retrieve that old invoice I deleted. HELP! I am totally freaking out!

You should be freaking out because you're in a real mess. Why would you delete this invoice this way? Did you delete BOTH the header and the detail? What happens when you try to close? Where are you located. Do you have a backup?

When I try to do period end or print an aging it says I am missing the invoice and won’t allow me to do anything. I’m stuck. Yes I have a back up but it’s a few months ago so I would have to re-enter a few months. I want to kill myself. Long Island New York

This is fairly simple. If you have a copy of the live company in the install then use Access or Excel to extract the invoice history header and detail files. If using Excel filter to extract just that invoice. Create a file for invoice history header and a file for invoice history detail. Use VI to import into the invoice history header and then into the invoice history detail

Basically you want to extract the record for header and detail that you deleted from a backup company and import into your current live company. That should fix your issue.  If you need assistance doing this my email address is in my profile.

If I recall correctly Visual Integrator (VI) back then was called Import Master. And it was not something you automatically had.  It was extra.

Have you tried doing a rebuild key files | sort files | and analyze and relink line files yet?

No matter what you do,  YOU WILL MAKE A BACKUP OF EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU TRY ANYTHING!

AND TEST ON THE BACKUP, NOT YOUR LIVE COMPANY.
