Paperless Office Files and restoring to another server

We are using Sage 100 Advanced V 5.20

OS Windows Server 2012 R2

We have a backup server where we have Sage 100 installed in case of disaster recovery.  We copy the data files over daily.

When I first migrated the data over all the Paperless Office files were relinked to the Backup server's path.   Daily, we restore data to the backup server from the live server.

The new Paperless Office PDF files are are not showing up in the Viewer window.  I assumed Paperless Office would automatically find the files but it's not.  It's not even finding an unlinked record for me to relink.  Is there a file I need to copy over that keeps a record of the new Paperless Office PDF files?  I found the files in the Paperless Office folder so they do exist.

Thanks much

You'll need to take this additional step to move paperless documents to the new location. Just copying them through Windows won't update their location within Sage.

Copy the entire \MAS90\ folder... and if necessary, run a migration from this data to make sure everything is in place before starting to use the backup server.  Then relink the Paperless files as Wayne suggests.  Just copying the MAS_### folders will not get you everything (since journals / registers are logged in system files).

Without a migration, some of the file paths (company data paths for example) may not be accurate on the different server.

Thank you for the quick reply.  When I first set up the backup server and Sage I did the proper migration as that is necessary.  I did the correct relink to "move" the files.  The path for Paperless Office is the same, except for the name of the server.   I changed all the paths in Paperless Office setup.  And it works perfect.  But now, with daily updates to the Paperless Office folder, the new Pdf files are not picked up.   Relinking does not work as they don't even show up as broken links.  I am wondering where the file is that contains this information.  Is it a SY file that I need to copy over?  I wouldn't want to have to do a migration everyday.  Maybe I need to just copy the entire MAS90 folder over and then do a migration in case of disaster recover.

    This (plus related external files):

"Maybe I need to just copy the entire MAS90 folder over and then do a migration in case of disaster recover."

If you go looking for system data file by file you'll miss things.  PDF logs, new users, changed role permissions... the variables are many.

Be sure to keep the backup server's programs at the same level (when installing product updates) and test your migration occasionally.
