Server & Workstation installed on windows 10 - Performance

We are trying to test some modules without affecting our server installation, so we installed Sage 100 on a computer running windows 10 pro. Everything appears to have installed correctly, but things are running super slowly. I've looked through the usual suspects (antivirus / firewall / permissions / file locks) and don't seem to be making any headway. We're doing this on a clean install of Sage 100 Premium 2018. MS SQL Server 2014.

Examples of issues / inconsistencies:

Log into Sage, attempt to open Company Maintenance.  It takes about 2 minutes for the company Maintenance window to open up.

Log into Sage, open user maintenance, takes 1 second for the window to open.

Attempt to run any report, takes at 2 minutes for the next window to pop open. Cannot choose any printer other than deferred or export. Click on preview and receive the following error: unable to preview sy_userreport_report. No printers are installed

Check what other software is installed on the computer.  I had a computer recently that was a new HP having issues and when I removed a couple of the HP software it improved dramatically.

The main software with the issue was an Antivirus.  I can't remember the hp name for it but have it in my notes if needed.

I asked the same question a few months back. Got no response.

We're moving to Terminal Server environments, but one showroom (where the Sage server is installed)

    has local pc installs.

All our Windows 10 pc's in that showroom are by far slower than Windows 7 Pro

You might want to start educating yourself with terminal servers...if you haven't already.

Our Windows 10 pc's only include standard Windows Defender for malware/virus protection.

Other ideas would be DNS. Possibly using an ip number instead of a server name on your Sage workstation settings.

That is..replace the target string for your server to an ip address instead of the server name.

    Found here:

Right-Click the Sage Application icon, check out the target string of connection parameters.

Be careful. Copy that target string somewhere so you can get it back to original.
