Input/Output Error Windows 7

After an upgrade from 4.00 to 4.40 for Mas90. I have one windows 7 workstation that continuously gives errors when logging in. The most common error is error 261 I/O error SY_session.pvc 678. The steps we used to correct was to rename the SY_workstation and SY_Console files and log back into MAS90 to recreate them. This worked for a limited time and then the error persisted. It seems the user needs to restart computer several times before being able to log in. There are other windows 7 users that are working fine. Today the following error came up:M:/SageSoftware4.40/Version440/MAS90/Home/pvxwin32.exe,

the directory name is invalid,Input/output error,Statement- 373,Class- SY_Security,Method- GetTaskKey. We are waiting for IT to physically move the workstation somewhere else to see if it's a location issue, but in the meantime I thought I'd post in case others have had a similar issue. Server is Microsoft Windows 2003. Thanks.

  • Gave user an entirely new pc and it works fine so it was not location.

  • I suspect the old computer had something wrong with the network card.

  • We are having the same problem and it is with our newest PC on the campus. Problem occurs with first login each day. Routine has become to login and wait for crash then shut down Sage and wait for all windows to close then restart sage for remainder of day with no problems. Have tried not restarting PC at end of day with same problem next morning. Tried not logging out of PC and again same problem at start of next day. Not willing to stay working through into next day and see if it stays working.
