MAS 200 Client Installation on Some Windows XP Machines Hangs

SOLVED

I've had the same issue on two out of six Windows XP desktops that I've had to reinstall MAS 200 v4.40 Workstation software on.  All desktops are XP SP3 and current on WIndows patches.

It looks like the install is going fine.  It takes 2 or 3 minutes for the progress bar to get all the way across (ie: 100%), but then it just sits there forever.  No errors are displayed.  If I go into task manager and kill the process, and then look in Add/Remove Programs, the Sage software is not shown on the list of installed programs.  I cannot launch MAS 200 on the affected machines either.

Deleting the C:/Program Files/Sage Software folder, and trying the install again yields the same result, with the install wizard hanging just when it looks like it is completing.

The other four XP desktops had no issues re-installing the MAS 200 workstation software.

Any ideas ?

Are you logged in with local Administrator rights to the problem workstations?

These are possible resolution in order most common results.  Test workstation setup after each option.

    •Clear these folders c:\windows\temp and c:\user\appdata\local\temp

    •Install Crystal Reports

•Reboot and startup in SAFE mode

    •Run wksetup from the CD

•Create a new windows user account with administrator privileges. Restart Windows and log in as the new user.

@VanMan...  Yes, I've tried the workstation install as Administrator, and when that failed, as a standard user on the local machine.

I'll try your other suggestions and post my results.

    Thank you !

@VanMan...  I still have a few more desktops to reinstall MAS 200 on, but at least for the two that I was having trouble with, creating a new domain user account on those computers (as admins) allowed me to do successful installs of MAS.

    Thanks for your suggestions !
