You are not authorized to access this program

SOLVED

We recently switched from MAS 90 to Sage 100 ERP and we did it over the weekend and when I came back on Monday everything had seemed to go smoothly but now I am getting reports of user not being authorized to open a couple of the modules. No one is authorized to open the Bill of Materials module even when we go through and give authority to it through Master Console and what not. Its mainly just that module that we are having trouble with. If anyone has any suggestions as to why this may possibly be it would be greatly appreciated.

This is most likely a setting in the users' role, the security settings changed between the older version and the newer one of Sage 100 ERP.

Error: "You are not authorized to access this program" accessing any task in Sage 100 ERP

    Products: Sage 100 ERP

    Description

Error: "You are not authorized to access this program" when attempting to access any task in Sage 100 ERP

    Cause

The user is not intended to have access to the task window or screen, OR

The User Logon does not have the proper Role security or permission to access the task window or screen

    Resolution

If the user should have access to a particular task window or screen, access may be granted by changing a setting for a Role already assigned, or by assigning a Role with access to the User Logon.

To change a role setting in Role Maintenance for a role already assigned to a user:

Open Role Maintenance with either of the following methods:

    - Log into Sage 100 ERP as the Administrator to access Administrator Tools, then click the Roles button

    - Log into Sage 100 ERP as a user (with rights to maintain Roles), and expand Library Master, Main menu, Roles Maintenance

For the Role, enter or select the known role already assigned to the User Logon

Find the specific setting to allow access, which should be one of the options under the Tasks tab

(Example: If you are getting this message upon accessing A/P Vendor Maintenance... then under the Tasks tab, look under Sage 100 ERP, Accounts Payable, Maintenance/Data Entry, Vendor Maintenance)

Select the checkbox option to allow access

    Click Accept

Have the user try accessing the task window or screen.

To assign a new role to a user in User Maintenance if the role already has access enabled:

Open User Maintenance with either of the following methods:

-Log into Sage 100 ERP as the Administrator to access Administrator Tools, then click the Users button

-Log into Sage 100 ERP as a user (with rights to maintain Users), and expand Library Master, Main menu, Users Maintenance

On the Maintenance tab, enter or select the user name in the User Logon field

Select a company or all companies

Select the Role that already has access enabled

    Click Accept

Have the user try accessing the task window or screen.
