I was thinking the same thing about the straight copy, but the last thing I want to do is screw up our database on a "think!"

It should work since it is essentially a access database, I bet it does not put anything into the OS that has to be there for it to work like a exe type of install. But would rather have a good copy just in case.....

I found it if you still need it, but I really don't think you do.

Also, I found every version from 1998 forward including the tax tables, just in case anyone is in need of these.

Although not recommended I have seen MAS 90 copied from one server to another server and work.

MAS 200 would be a no go in that method.

You have a SERVER that is windows XP????   There is no such thing as Windows Server XP that I recall.

Really sounds like you need to talk with your Sage partner.

Well server is just what we call the computer running xp that has a mapped drive on it for the workstations to call into. I came in about 5 years after they set this up and I am dragging the company kicking and screaming as fast as I can. We have 4.2 but somebody lost the keys. All efforts to reobtain them have failed so I need a bit more spit and bailing wire to keep it going before it all falls apart.

I am trying to switch from first gen tech xp to a pc with triple the ram, much better processor and faster HDD. Hope to keep stability on the network.

Wow.  Seems to me that peer to peer like that is not even a supported configuration.

Since 3.7 and even 4.2 are no longer considered to be a supported version,  you are running the risk that eventually something will blow out and you won't be able to fix it.   Or at minimum,  it won't run on the latest version of windows.

My fingers have been crossed for some time now and this is something I hope to prolong by getting everything onto a fresher PC so to speak.

3.71 will not run on anything newer than XP sp3. The server part. I am currently running 3.71 workstation on 3 win8 machines without an issue.
