This may be a shot in the dark but I know that I ran in to problems with an import because of the order in which I had the data being imported. In Import Job Maintenance on the Data tab, the list of Available Fields is in the order in which Sage wants it imported. If for some reason your import fields are out of order then it may be causing you issues.

Did you assign a value to the item type field?

The ItemType field is set as REPL. I only Exported Type 1 records, so that's what I'm trying to import first.

The Product Line, Price Code and Vendor have to be setup before you import into CI_Item. With Primary Vendor it is actually three imports. First import into CI_Item, then import into IM_ItemVendor and then import again into CI_Item setting the Primary Vendor

When you say "reference another table" that sounds to me like you are trying to do a File Assign Operation. Big Louie is right in that you first have to setup Product Line, Price Code and Vendor before you import items. You would either want those values to be in your source file so you can use a Replace Operation or you can use an Assign Operation to give specific values for the item(s). In general File Assigns are no longer used in VI.

I actually started over and used the utility SVTRNA that let me copy the information I was having problems with.
