Unified logon questions

1.) The client wants to use unified logon for their system, but users and servers are on different domains. Can this be made to work?

2.) Setup procedure for unified logon in user maintenance is to enter user names and passwords as they are currently being used in Windows. If domain security rules require users to change passwords every 30 days, for example, does someone have to update passwords in Sage for every user each time?

I don't know the answer to #1 (although I imagine the server domain's access token is what's required), but #2 is straight-forward. With unified logon you can't enter passwords in UM (being authenticated by Windows with the correct username is enough). Any passwords that are set in UM will be permanent, and effective whenever the user wants to access data through a manual ODBC query (eg. pulling data into Excel using MS Query, assuming Providex back-end). Otherwise, Sage 100 passwords are not considered. Changing the domain password doesn't require an extra step in Sage 100.

Thanks, Kevin. Your note on the ODBC access is a gem, too.
