How do I expand the AP vendor name to the 50 characters available?

Can someone outline the process to go into AP and change the characters to 50?

Upgrade to v2015 or higher.

The field is automatically expanded if you are on the correct version, which is 2015. There is no way to change it before that version, though we have commonly used a workaround and created a UDF to hold an extended name.

We upgraded to v2016 and it did not automatically expand the AP vendor name.

Where exactly are you seeing that they are not expanded? The screens and standard reports should be expanded, but if you are using custom Crystal Reports you may have to update those to the new database version manually.

I was hoping they expanded the vendor number I do now see the name has expanded, I was hoping it was like AR where the Vendor number expanded as well to allow for more characters to set up for that.

Click Resources, File Layouts and Program Information, File Layouts, Accounts Payable, AP_Vendor
What you see is what you gots.

Vendor number is 7 characters.
