Migrate 2 companies from different systems

SOLVED

I can't seem to pick the correct response to migrate 2 companies into Sage 100 2016 from 2 different sources. When responding to migrate existing companies, no matter if I select yes or no, I only end up with the company I am currently migrating.

Issue is:

I have 2 MAS200 companies on version 4.4 on 2 different servers.

We want to migrate both to a single instance on a new server.

Migrate the 1st all is good. Migrate the second and I lose the 1st.

What is the correct procedure?

As always, thanks in advance for your assistance.

If they have the same company code it can't be done. If they have the same company code you would have to make a copy and then try to migrate the copy over. Once in the same sever and install you would have to use VI to import the data from one to the other. Note because there will be duplicate invoice and sales order numbers it may not be possible.

they have different company codes. However, I discovered, if I create the company in the new install 1st I can then migrate without losing the existing companies.

Check if the data folder still exists for the first company. I believe you will still find it there and that you just have to re-dfine the first company you migrated. After you define it and accept exit and return to company maintenance and it should show up with all the modules.

Beware: some "who did what" data will be broken on the second imported company code. User keys will not align with the proper account, even if you create users in the new system that look exactly the same on screen.
If you have any custom fields (UDF's) you will want to be sure they are in sync between the two systems before doing your live migration, or you may lose data.
