When running quarterlies, how do I retrieve Sage-stored unemployment information to submit to the state in XML format?

SOLVED

We want to upload the data to the state unemployment agency ourselves without using a third-party service.

There is not a way to export unemployment information in XML format that could be manually uploaded to state agency.  You could use the Visual Integrator module to export the applicable raw data but not sure how to get into the XML format you need.

You can use Sage 100 Federal and State Tax Reporting (located on the Payroll > Period End menu) to print to plain paper OR electronically file your Federal and State tax forms.

    • Federal and State Tax Reporting offers seamless integration with Sage 100

Thank you for your response to our question regarding year-end report filings.  We were able to navigate through nearly all of the tasks required before closing the 2019 payroll year in time to process the first payroll of 2020 the week of January 6th

The only outstanding task left is the submission of the South Carolina Unemployment Tax report for the larger of our two companies which has 143 employees on the report, requiring electronic filing.  We have been processing the electronic filing with Sage-generated reports for several years, most recently at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2019 (September 2019) using Sage 2016 Payroll Module 5.3.  Easy-peasy!  Now with the upgrade to Sage 2019 Payroll Module 2.19.4 (which was performed on September 26-27th before the first payroll of the 4th quarter—a particularly bloody upgrade requiring 3 wonderfully helpful Sage customer service staff members’ remote assistance over 3 days to ferret out all the impacts to existing setups and data), we find that we can’t find the path to upload the data directly to our State agency as we’ve done so routinely.

Your response seems to be saying that the only way to complete the process electronically is to pay Aatrix to do it for us.  Is that correct?  We’re a non-profit entity and seek to control costs whenever possible.  More importantly, we take the security of our employees’ confidential information very seriously.  Our on-site systems are well secured, which is more than can be said by the cloud industry when news reports of security breaches seem to happen regularly.  We don’t want social security numbers and income data made available to third-party service providers.

Please pass this question up the technical support chain.  Surely there is a path to the data for the customer to use if it exists for Aatrix to use.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.
