Sage 100 payroll 2.20 incorrectly calculates social security withholding

SOLVED

Payroll program update yesterday and now 2 employees' social security withholding are incorrect?  Salary employees...no changes from previous months payrolls...not even near the salary limitation.

    Double check your tax profiles.

I ran into a situation yesterday with an upgrade where the all the Covid pay checkboxes were cleared in the profile.  I assumed it had something to do with the upgrade from 2018 Sage 100 to 2020 but it could be a different cause.

Thanks Tom.  Ended up calling support.  Seems when GTL(group term life) boxes are selected, it doubles the YTD SS wages value, making the system think it has met the limits.  Of course, now I have to remember to create new profiles for the GTL re-select them before running the last payroll of the year, which will include the fringe benefit GTL.

Check the release notes in the Payroll 2.20.2 released today as this fix was included.

New in Sage 100 Payroll 2.20.2

Social Security tax is now correct when entry has Group Term Life earnings.

    Hi Linda,

I am trying to set up the GTL to gross up the amounts over $50k as we provide this to our employees as a company benefit.

I set up an earning code shown below:

And then updated he tax profile by checking the below boxes:

Would this be the correct set up to ensure the SS Wages are not doubled after I installed the fix you referenced?
