Active Users when trying to install payroll update

SOLVED

I have been trying to install the newest payroll update 2.20.3. This is the first time I have ever done a payroll update on this system. I can get through all the steps but then when I get to the end I get a message that says "There are users currently in Sage 100. Please have all users exit Sage 100 before continuing. Click OK when ready to continue or Cancel to end the installation." I checked the master console and there are no other users. There is a knowledgebase article that says with Sage 100 Advanced you will need to stop the service or application. I went into Task Manager Processes to end that task. Not sure if that was correct? We also have Paya and DSD Union enhancement. Not sure if those could be running in the background somewhere that could be causing this.

Thanks!

For your first update it might be worth having your Sage Partner / consultant help you through the update process as a training session.  With enhancements it is extremely important to understand the proper steps... the Sage documentation applies to unmodified systems and will not tell you how to safely deal with enhancements (like DSD...).

(Updates are always installed from the Sage server).
