The easiest way I've found to make changes like this is use ODBC and query the associated files to return the file key and then go into L/M file maintenance and edit the records. Others may have a better way.

There is no need to edit using data file display and maintenance.  If the user logged in has security set in Role Maintenance to "Allow Viewing, Printing and Editing of Highly Sensitive Personally Identifiable Information" they can change the SS# in Employee Maintenance.  It is not advised to give this access to everyone, but someone should have it for this type of change.

Good point Linda. SSN probably is only stored in the employee master and the only place the change needs to happen.

If you were not aware, modern versions of Sage 100 encrypt certain data fields (PII) like SSN, making them inaccessible through ODBC and DFDM.

Payroll isn't a module I work with often.
