Adding fields to Standard Sage PR report

Have a client who needs to do some reporting for the state and the Check History Report seemed like a good place to start.  HOWEVER, I have been unable to add UDFs from the Employee file at all (even non-encrypted fields) (they all show as blank), and I also can't use an encrypted field if I link in the PR_Employee file.  Linking in the PII work file gives me an error when I run the report.

How do I get the Birth Date on this standard Payroll report?
