Iowa changed their W4 for 2024

I have numerous clients in Iowa I am starting to get questions regarding the new Iowa W4 and where to put these changes in Sage PR. Below is a typical question being fielded.

Iowa changed their W4 for 2024 and we have over a 100 to enter but I don’t really see the options to enter what is on the form – do you know if Sage has updated things for 2024? thanks

Below is the new w-4. There are new fields for marital status. Where are these in Sage PR Employee setup? The filing status for IA is still grayed out.

What do I tell them?

OH, and BTW. The new form was released on 11/28/2023. Aatrix has not included it in their forms update as of today either.

OK, looks like a slight workaround has been posted for exemptions. Is this going to be a permanent workaround?

Yes, this the workaround for the new Iowa W-4 Form. We don't plan to make other changes related to this form.

So what is the work around for marital status? The previous form had filing status of single or married (below -which was greyed out in employee maintenance). Now the new form has two additional filing statuses which aren't being used by Sage. Users are asking why this is so. What should I tell them?

The total allowances are what is used by the tax calculation engine. Users need to follow the instructions on Iowa W-4 form to determine their total allowances.
