I don't really speak French but using a French-English translator I found by using bing

"I need to send an e-mail has clients in Quebec and I don't know how to say Sales Order and Quote in French.  Can you help me?

Thank you in advance"

sales order = commande client
quote =citation

I am just wondering what Sage 100 would say if I had it in French...  French is so complex, direct translation is not always correct especially when it comes to Quebec French.

If your concerned, I would suggest having your client just contact their customer and ask.  I'm sure they would appreciate that you are making the effort to accommodate them.

And to be perfectly honest,  I looked at the results and kind of wondered about the translation myself.  Quote can have two different meanings in English and somehow "citation" doesn't seem on point.

"Commande client" kind of gives me pause as well.

it is really confusing, I got so many different answers its really stressfull, it's actually for a major Client in Quebec so I want to ensure we translate the documents correctly but without the French Version of Sage, I am at lost:

Quote: Soumission, Citation, Devis, Cotation

Sales Order: Commande de Vente, Commande Client

I don't believe there is a French version of Sage 100.  It's pretty much a US product.

Canadians have a reputation for being very polite.  And French tend to appreciate someone who is willing to try their language.  Either way,  I think they would appreciate your efforts of asking.

If you can wait a little while,  I just realized I spoke with the customer of one of my clients the other day who was most definitely French.  I just checked and he is still on site but in a meeting at the moment.  Probably have an answer for you in a couple of hours.

Benoit tells me that

Commande = Sales Order

Devis = Quote

However, he cautioned the French in Quebec vs France can have subtle differences (he is from France).
