Sage Partner Onsite Visit

Does anyone have any recommendations or experiences with a Sage partner coming onsite to do a consultation of inventory, SO, and PO modules best practices and procedures?  We are currently in an agreement with DSD, but not sure if I am ok with the next available date they are able to come onsite.  Thinking about exploring other options.

  • Why on-site?  You can get a lot done remotely (I work 100% remote), and if you have specific pain-points to deal with, I'm sure you could make progress without waiting by talking through the issues.

Just screen sharing and talking with someone as they go through their processes can lead to plenty of hints and tips (plus things to research further offline).

We have always felt we got more out of consults when the company/person would come onsite, our business is unique, or we would like to think so, and we feel we have so many moving parts that the consultant needs to see the process first hand.  The main reason for the visit is to show us "how to"  use the modules correctly (to utilize the inventory capability) and suggest ways to handle our current CI_Item practices, the IIG matrix add-on is also a sticking point which not many people have experience in.  I've tried to do as much research online as I can, or until my head hurts, some of the reasoning or accounting processes are just over my head.

Ah... the IIG matrix (that I know very little about) does complicate things significantly, where I could see the value add of being there in person.

So would manufacturing (where processes really need on site visibility).

(Not wanting to step on anyone's toes).  Maybe you can ask IIG to put you into contact with someone else using the same enhancement, so you can share notes with another end-user?

  • Out of curiosity, what type of availability are you experiencing for On Site Business Process Reviews?

  • When you say you are not ok with next available date they are able to come onsite do you mean it is too far out and you would like someone to come out sooner?

    Not sure what you mean...

Yes, it is not until mid June, which is not that far away but, it just pushes everything else back.

  • When you get into modules that require specific expertise - such as MFG or IIG Apparel - I think you are going to keep running into this type of scheduling issue.
