In the IM Utilities menu there is something called Delete Change Items.  Importing to that table, then running the utility, is the only way I know of removing items in bulk.

Note: you will be blocked from deleting items with history.  The only option then is to merge the history into something like a ZZZZZZZZ... placeholder "Deleted Item".

Imported items to that table and confirmed they are in there through SQL.  Looks like it should work, can't test until everyone closes their batches.

You might want to try in a test company first, to see how it works.  There is no undo... and be sure to make a backup before you run it Live!
