You would need to use the Production Management module, which lets you create Work Tickets for each finished good item, exploding the components and tracking them in Inventory with a total ON WO and Reqd for WO.

Thank you Ms Bowers, we have the work orders for each finished good item. Still not familiar how to explode the component lines.

If you truly have work orders AND they are Released AND the components have not been issued, they should automatically be showing up in the Reqd on WO field.  HOWEVER - seems to me like one version doesn't show you that field on the first screen, maybe?  Ugh, can't remember for sure.  Do you see a column called Reqd for WO?

No it's probably not set up yet by our developer.

Well, there is a diff between Planned and Released WO, and the qty only shows up once released, I think.

Yes, I totally agree. Sorry for mixing the two but not intended. 
The component lines will only show after the work orders are created or released. There should be a total required component lines in the work order field somewhere.

The new PM module has a report that shows component requirements merged with PO promise dates.  (I don't know if this was available in the old WO module).
