TLS

SUGGESTED

We are currently running Sage 100 2016.   We have migrated to a new ERP system but still need to keep our Sage 100 system around for access to historical data and financials.   I understand once October hits and TLS1.1 is no longer support the system will become read only.  But I can't find a good description of what read only means.   Will I still be able to run financial reports if needed and can I still look up customer, order and invoice data as needed?

Thanks for any direction I can get.

    Hi Tim,

Did you check with your reseller? He or she should be able to answer that question. They should also have access to a patch for certain versions of the 2016 system, in case read-only doesn't allow reports to pull data out of Sage. Seems to me that it should, though, but there is a lot of information floating around and, frankly, it can be kind of confusing.

Yes I do have the question into them, but as you noted lots of information and not a lot of hard answers.  So I was really hoping to get some confirmation of any answer I get from my reseller.

    Hi Tim,

I was able to look at your account and it appears it is a subscription account so you will be impacted by the changes to TLS. The Sage Knowledgebase article that provided below is an accurate description of what occurs when Sage 100 becomes read-only. As mentioned there is a patch available for specific versions of Sage 100 2016. This patch has only been released to Partners as there is some pre-work that needs to be done prior to installing the patch.
