CHANGING MULTIPLE ITEMS "INVENTORY CYCLE"

Hi all,

Boy I sure wish it was easier to look up SAGE help ANYWHERE on the internet... I need to modify hundreds of items "INVENTORY CYCLE" code/status. We just did Inventory and out of 87 pages printed, there were actually only around 6-7 pages of actual product we counted, and if you considered we printed these multiple time's, you can see the waste! The majority of those are "DO NOT COUNT" and "OBSOLETE".

My question: I am using the "Product Line Maintenance" option to change from Inventory Cycle "A" to "O", and can do a PART NUMBER range but only WITHIN product lines of which we have dozens. How can I make that change WITHOUT having to choose the Product Line as well? Is there a way to do Export to Excel, change the data, and Import back to Sage? My predecessor did not stay on top of this and I have committed to cleaning this up.

Help!

You could use Visual integrator to import an change to the Cycle Count Value.  Probably easiest way is to use an Inventory Item Lookup Listing exported to excel.  Then modify the Cycle Count for each item and use VI to import in just the cycle count change.  If you don't use Visual Integrator for other tasks I would suggest reaching out to your Reseller Consultant for assistance.  And as always with import tools, always test into a Backup Company first, and always have a backup of the data set before importing into live companies, changes like this.

Changing that in Product Line maintenance will only set that value on new items as they are created.  To update the cycle code for existing items you have to do that in Item Maintenance.

Use the Visual Integrator module to import into CI_Item to update items in bulk (usually from a CSV / spreadsheet import source).
