Inventory movement

I'm using MAS 200. I'm looking for a simple way to check inventory movement, ie how many of a certain inventory item have we sold and/or issued in a period of time. I know that I can run inventory sales history reports and inventory issue history reports, but I don't find a way to choose a date "range" and have a total number. The report shows the inventory by period and doesn't give you a total. So right now, if I want to know how many widgets I used in the last 6 months, I have to print both reports, then add together the 6 periods in each report. Does anybody know of a better way to accomplish this?

Have you run the Inventory Details Transaction Report? Just saying.

Thanks. Yes, I tried that but it doesn't give the option of choosing only receipt transactions. Also, what I'm looking for is the age of the inventory that is currently in stock and the transaction report shows everyting... what's been received, invoiced, issued, etc.

What is your valuation method? Standard, Average, FIFO, Lot or Serial?

FIFO, but we do have items that are serialized as well

I used Crystal and wrote a report that only pulls in certain transaction types and it is based upon a date range that i enter.

If you want a report that shows the age of inventory in stock then you would build a report off of the Item Costing table which has the receipt date in it.
