Pulling meaningful sales data that matches my GL

I'm trying to pull sales data that can be sliced and diced by customer, SKU, date, sales rep, etc. but ties exactly to the GL. So far, the reports I can get using Microsoft Query all have great data, but it won't tie to the GL. There has to be a simple way to pull sales data that ties directly to the Sales GL and can be manipulated to look at different cuts, right? Anyone have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate. Thanks.

  • What Sage product are you using?  In Sage 300 ERP you should only have to filter and group by category code to get it to match to the GL.

MAS 200 - I sure hope their is a really easy solution.

Since you are using Sage 100 ERP, I'm going to move this post to that Support Group so that other users of this product will see your question and be able to offer their thoughts and insight.

    Thanks,

  • Personally I would not use MS Query and Excel.  You would need to use the AR Invoice History Header and Detail files. Pull into MS Access and build a single data set. The Detail file has the GL codes, actually the GL Account Key meaning you will need the GL Account file also, along with amounts and item number. Once the data set is built you can export to Excel.

Thanks. Can you be a bit more specific for me though? I've got the AR invoice history header and detail files figured out (I think) but when you started to mention the GL account key and GL account file, you lost me. Can you give me a few more steps to point me in the right direction? What links the AR invoice files to the GL account? Thanks a ton for helping.

    Step 1: Call your reseller

    Step 2: Schedule a visit.

Or please note that the tables in MAS do not use the GL account code but rather use the account key so to get the true account number you would need to link the Detail table with the GL account file and link on the Account Key. This would allow you to get the real account number.
