USER table - any other placement?

I trying to figure out the best/easiest way to assign users to a certain branch. At first I simply inserted their respective Branch location name into the beginning of their User Name description thinking that I would be able to link to that. Apparently the USER table isn't a regular table and perhaps a datapipe?

Anyone have a suggestion of what they might do? I can't seem to link to it from Crystal reports (unless I'm just blind).

Users are stored in the USERS.ISM ISAM file (Indexed Sequential Access Method) which cannot be used in Crystal.

Create an optional field for users and use that in your Crystal report. Yes you need to maintain both, but you can at least do your report.

fair enough. It's not like users get updated that often anyways so it shouldn't be bad.

Are you suggesting that I just make an optional field table that isn't actually linked anywhere and just used to hold values?
