Hello,

We are moving to a new SQL server. Is there a way to bring over the users and their passwords from the old to the new server? I have done a dump and load of the system database, and everything comes across except the users. I also tried export from the old server and import to the new server in the UI Users screen. Using the export/import method results in an error saying the password does not meet requirements, but in the export file there is no column for password.

Copy the SITE folder.

Hi Jay,

What are the specific files that only pertain to the user records? I don't want to move things over such as orgs, etc. Also should I copy over the Users folder?

Copy EVERYTHING, then run Database setup, which updates ORGS.ISM.

Ok, I did that. And that worked great. One strange thing, I lost the entire ability to manage colors in database setup. How do I get that back?

Did you install the same product updates? This function was added in a product update.

Yes, it is Sage 2012 product update 4. The colors were there in DB setup and then were gone when I copied over the Site folder and went to modify the server settings in DB setup. Very strange. I am trying a repair installation to see if it brings the colors back.

The repair did not bring colors back. I deleted the SITE folder and all my databases, then ran the repair installation. DB setup --> Colors came back. Copied SITE folder over from current live server, went into DB setup on new server - no colors.
