GLJED CompanyID field with incorrect company ID

We have noticed that the CompanyID field in the GLJED table does not tie up with the actual company AUDTORG field.

The bulk of the record have the correct company ID, however many have either blanks or random company ID's

I have checked this at several clients and several companies and it is the same everywhere !!!!!!!

I also noticed that the offending records were coming from the IC module.

Has anybody got the same problem - Has anybody got an answer to this ??????????????? Is it a BUG in the system.

Does it matter? I've never seen this, nor has it been a problem. Could it be that data was dumped/loaded from company ID to another?

COMPANYID is used by inter company transactions.

    Thanks for the information.
    - No we did not dump and load from another company. - it loads random company ID's - in the same GL batch it can contain several different other company ID's.
    - I have now checked at three different clients and multiple companies and found that they all have the same problem.
    - I realise that it is causing no damage / problems, but am just curious as to why this is happening as it is not right. (they are either V2012 or V2014 clients and are not using Inter company transactions).
    Thanks anyway.

I think it's a strange bug. I just picked a largish 2014 client at random, with 5.5 million records in GLJED.

There are four different values in COMPANYID, even thought they don't use intercompany, and haven't dump/loaded in 5 years. The first two values are xxxDAT (3.5M/63.9%) and blank (2.0M/35.6%), but the other two (10K/<.1%) are curious: xxxDEV and xxxTST, the development and test companies. There's no way that a DEV process should update DAT. In face, DAT is regularly copied to DEV and TST, so it should be the other way around.

Note that 100% of the DEV and TST transactions were generated by IC day-end.
