I had a client call me about this this morning.  I think a Microsoft update broke something.  No firm solution yet, he printed his FRs from another PC because he was in a hurry.

Good to know. It was working yesterday, so likely the updates have something to do with it.

We have the same issue. One machine (luckily) hasn't been updated yet so we can still run them on that machine. In checking, it appears the machines that don't work are missing the FR Add-in in Excel - can we just install that again? If yes, how do we do that? Is no longer listed in available add-ins (Excel - Options - Add-ins - Manage: Excel Add-ins: Go)

Hi all - the above KB has been updated and it includes a fix for the reporting error in version 2016 and 2017. 

Any chance 2014 will be fixed?

We just installed the fix at a customer. Print Financial Statement now works, however if using Statement Designer within Excel, selecting FR Paste, nothing opens, no error message. This Sage 300 2017

Strangely, FRCLEAR works from that menu but FRVIEW and FRPASTE do not.  Nothing happens at all.  No error messages.  I am doing this on Sage 300 V2016

Looks like Microsoft pushed out an Office update that impacted Excel 2016 Professional Edition, the Office 365 Edition of Excel was not affected. Microsoft is working to address this and has provided the following information to work around the problem pending a permanent fix. The workaround from Microsoft allows GL Financial Reporter to run with Excel 2016 regardless of the version of Sage 300 you are using.

1. Locate the file MSCOMCTL.ocx in the C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\root\VFS\SystemX86\ folder and re-name it.
2. Copy the file C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSCOMCTL.ocx to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\VFS\SystemX86\

There is no need to install the fix from KB85837. If it has already been installed you can leave it in place.

Applied this fix (on top of KB85837 that I had done yesterday) and it works - FR View works in Statement Designer.

This works with the Click to Run Office versions but if the client is using the Enterprise Pro Plus, you don't see that C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\root\VFS\SystemX86\  folder. So, how do we fix it then ?

We are running 2014 (300 Premium ERP) (Build 3) (Product Update 3).

FR is running fine on a machine that is using Office 2013 (15.0.4953.1000) 32-bit, part of Office 365 Business

FR is not running on 3 machines that are using Office 2016 (16.0.8326.2076) 32-bit, part of Office 365 Business 

Does this work around apply? As you say that Office 365 wasn't affected, but we have been.

Office 365 does not run the required macros.  Financial Reporter only works if 32 bit Excel 2010, 2013, or 2016 was previously installed.
