Excel upload of A/P invoices - document number including text not allowed

I can successfully upload A/P invoices using the basic template included with Sage 300.

However, if my invoice number ("IDINVC") includes any text (e.g. "A23456") the upload fails with the error message "Document number cannot be blank".

It is very common for invoice numbers to contain text, so I was wondering if there is a solution / workaround.

I have discovered that if I separate the upload into two files, one only containing invoice numbers that contain text, and the other only containing numerical invoice numbers, the upload is successful.

So Sage does not like a single upload containing a mixture of numerical and text string invoice numbers.
