Is there a way (without modifications) to permanently suppress a given field in the container view of the data entry screens for specific users without doing a modification?

Specifics - customer does not want some users to see prices or costs anywhere in the screens they access.  We can use the UI profile function to remove from some screens, but not the detail/container view (or so I believe).  And, while we can remove the field from the list of displayed fields in the container view, we need to also prevent the user from being able to restore the field to that view.

Sage tech support suggested setting up security groups - we already have them, btw - but I don't see how we can stop someone from revealing a hidden field in the container view using security groups.
