Invalid Unicode character with Sage 300 ERP send/ receive?

SOLVED

Hi all

Hope someone can help. We have an issue with an error being returned along the lines of "invalid unicode character" when someone tries to do a send/ receive in Sage 300 ERP (I'm speaking under correction, paraphrasing how the issue was reported to me). Before I continue, I need to state that I have very little to no experience with Sage.

According to some individuals I work with, this can be due to high latency at the branches getting this error, but according to me, this looks more like a character or characters being used that are not correctly encoded in unicode (whether it's UTF8 or UTF16 or whatever the case might be).

Somehow though, I need to prove it. What I'd like to know is are there any logfiles I can perhaps scratch around in that would shed some more light on which character in which record or records the system isn't happy with? I'm guessing someone's copying and pasting from something like Outlook that's messing up the encoding, but the challenge I'm facing is figuring out what and where exactly that is.

Thanks in advance.

Not quite sure myself, going purely by what I've been told. Best I can tell is it seems like it might be some sort of custom sync job that gets kicked off every so often. It sounds like the error is returned from a remote branch when this specific job is run, but this is purely me guessing at this point.
I'll try to get some more details and update if I get any more info.

Are there any standard logfile locations I can perhaps snoop around in though?
