To fix depreciation rate

Hi,

I have only been using Sage for few months now - last week I added new asset through Asset Acquisition and posted to GL and everything before I realized I put the wrong depreciation rate.

Is there any way to edit that? Or I have to dispose the asset and start again?

Any help will be very much appreciated

Which fixed asset program are you using? Depending on which one, there may be a utility under utilities or periodic processing to delete an undepreciated asset or to change the depreciation but it depends on which software you are using.

Thanks Eva, we are just using Sage 300ERP I hope that's what you asked me?

Under the Depreciation folder you will find a Depreciation reversal function. This will allow you to reverse all depreciation for the asset assuming that it is in the same financial year. You can then change the rate and re-process the depreciation.
