You do not have a license for this product.

Random error received by numerous workstation users at all different times of the day. Some when they first go to open sage, some while they are in the middle of working in Sage. This has been happening following the most recent Sage 300 2016 Product Update 3 and Sage 300 US Payroll Update-v7.2I(2018-Q3) which were both applied in the past week. I went into the data activation portion of Sage and found the following message.

The windows event viewer talks about Sage usermgmterrors every single time this issue occurs. I believe it is related to licensing/users logging in and out and lock files not being released or something along those lines.

Here is an Event Viewer example:

Error: userMgtLockCapture: File already exists. File ="C:\Sage\Sage300\COMPANY\userMgtLogs\userMgt-F5953423-FE28-4C9C-9509-67363D0AC464.lock.log"

Please help.

It definitely sounds like it is enviromental. You might want to kick everyone out (or wait until later) and then rename semaphor.bin to remove any internal locks. I would check to see about network issues. One way is to set up a batch file that calls ping every 10 seconds in a loop that puts the output to a text file. Then let it sit and collect data. Hopefully you can see if there is a break in network connectivity when the message you reported occurs.

Also, check the open file listing to see if there are users who have files open and aren't logged into the network.

I renamed semaphor.bin to remove any internal locks last night. Thought things were fine until 12:02pm today when the issue popped up again for multiple users. That is the exact same time as yesterday ..
