Import I/C Adjustments

Can someone please advise (or provide) where can I find a Template, instructions and key for I/C Adjustments? We are using the Export/Import capabilities as often as possible and I can usually find what I need by exporting a previous item and recreating but when I try to export an I/C Adjustment it is not as clear. For example, where does the Adj Sequence number originate from, do we need to create? What are the codes for TransType?

Thank you!

The templates provided by Sage are not very useful, as they include all fields, and then you need to populate all fields.  I can give a few pointers for adjustments, but then trial and error is best to determine what you need.

ADJENSEQ:  include it in Headers and Details, and give a sequential number for each adjustment.  Sage will override it on import with the next internal number.  If you have multiple detail lines for one header, all of those details need to match the header's ADJENSEQ.

    TRANSNUM:  not actually needed.

DOCNUM:  if you want to assign your own Adjustment Numbers, include this column in the Header; otherwise remove it so that Sage will assign the next Adj number during import.

LINENO:  must exist in Details, but can be zero for all lines.

TRANSTYPE:  Get from Application Object Models.  Or look at Adjustment Type in the Adjustment screen:  the value you need to import is 1 through 6, corresponding to those 6 choices.

STATUS:  Make sure this is in your header, with a value of 1 for each record.  Otherwise, Sage assumes 2 on import and marks it as if it's posted, but it did not actually post / update inventory.

Other than that, I recommend exporting all, and then renaming the columns you don't think you need by starting with an "x" or other character so that Sage doesn't recognize that column on import.  If it works, you're safe to delete that column.  If not, rename it back and keep it in your template.

Minimum - Header:  ADJENSEQ, STATUS (this will default date and docnum, and of course blank ref/desc etc)

Minimum - Details:  ADJENSEQ, LINENO, ITEMNO, LOCATION, TRANSTYPE, QUANTITY, UNIT, EXTCOST.

Hi Charmagne, if this is a repeatable process and you'd like a product solution, we could demo our IC Host Interface & Adjustment Import. Its a very managed process that on-boards a flat file to a Transaction Queue and then imported via our Adjustment Import, singularly or in batches, and in several automated modes if volumes warrant. Thank you for the response, your input was spot on and we had a successful import both in test and live! This will save us so much time moving forward. Thanks again.
