Never seen it.  Sounds like screwy network permissions on the shared data folder.  Or they're not pointed to the same folder.

Check registry on both stn; they point to same place

I know I.T. 'tuned up' their server

NTFS access to shared data seems normal - I can rename user folder, delete LANPAK.BIN from a stn explorer window

One unusual thing is that when I go to \\server I cannot see any shares (even though there is no $ in share names)

AND in fact get an error message saying I have no permissions

but I can go to share if I use full name  \\server\sage300pgms kind of thing;

One more thing occasionally stn2 gets message cannot access LANPAK.BIN file

Yep, the network is screwy.
