Desktop has stopped working

When exporting one of the custom crystal reports we suddenly get the below error message:

Deskto has stopped working.

When l went to the windows Event log to check what is the issue l get the below error log:

We are running Sage 300 v2021 PU2

Crystal reports 2013 Support Pack 7

Windows Server 2016 Standard edition

OS 64bit 

At the moment l suspect the issue is with the crxf_xls.dll .

Does anyone know what could be the problem or how l can resolve it ?

  • I am still with no solution for this issue. However what is surprising is that l can export to excel when l am inside the Crystal Report writer with no issue at all. 

    However, when l am on preview within Sage 300 and l try to export to excel with any of the available excel options, it crashes my Sage 300 session. 

    Therefore, this suggest that the issue is with Sage 300 and not Crystal . 

    Is there anyone who has experienced this issue with Sage 300 ?

    A response will be appreciated.

    Make sure Excel is 32-bit
