Read-Only access after 4/1/24 What versions of Sage 300 will turn off

A customer got this message by email.

"Your Sage 300 ERP system is severely out of date and needs to be upgraded, or it will default to "read-only mode" on or before 4/1/2024."

What version(s) of Sage 300 is affected by this? For example, Sage 300 2018 wouldn't be affected since it runs fine without an internet connection.

  • Hi  normally when the license expires you get 60 days grace to renew with warnings at 60 days, 30 days, 14 days then every day during the last seven days, finally followed by:

So the client needs to ignore many many messages before it gets to this stage.  The editions affected start with version 2018 onwards that are licensed under the Subscription instead of Perpetual model.  By around the 2021, 2022 editions, almost all sites are subscription.  If the client has paid their subscription yet are receiving the above read-only warning then it means when users are logging in, their client is unable to "phone home" to Sage periodically to validate the license.  They could try logging into Sage 300, open Help -> Licenses -> License Manager -> click Refresh:

If that doesn't work it means their server is blocking access to:

    • licensing.services.sage.com on port 443
    • cece.na.sage.com on port 443

Once those are unblocked, either through a firewall, load balancer or outbound proxy, the customer should be able to click Refresh succesfully.

As emergency measures, you could try refreshing the license on the main server, try refreshing logged in as a Domain Admin, or run their programs and shared data up on a test workstation outside their network, then copy the generated entitlements.xml file back to the SharedData folder on the main server.

    Good luck!
