Hi Patrick,

Payroll 8.0 Install files were only bundled on the Sage 300 2024 ISO.. There are no plans to make a separate installation for just the Payroll installation files.

Upgrading to Payroll 8.0 on a pre-2024 version of Sage  300 is the same as any module. you just install the files, install the tax update, and when you open Sage, it will ask you to activate the program and tax tables.  

Not much else to it other than making sure you have a backup of the database prior to running Data Activation.

Thank you; this is exactly the information I needed.

David, I just tested this on a Sage 2021 installation and when I try to activate payroll 8.0 I get the following error:

Description: Internal error. cpGetCompanyInformation failed (1399 PRACTV1.C). 

2021 is too old

I have 2021 and up as still being supported. Is that incorrect?

I don't have many either, but there are some. My 2021 test company didn't have the latest PU installed. I just installed PU8 and tried re-activating payroll 8.0 and it did work. So I can confirm payroll 8.0 activates on 2021 PU8

No issues with running Payroll 8.0 with 2021 PU8?

It installed and activated ok in my test company, but I haven't tried any processing.
