Doing a test and live conversion in Version 2024 and 2023 PU2 and higher

Before the security enhancements in version 2024 and 2023 PU2,  when we do a test conversion to a new Server,  I will load the SQL databases and copy the shared data folders to the new server, install the new Sage, run database activation and do the testing.  When we go live,  I will load a new copy of the SQL databases, update the shared data folders in the new server, run a repair of Sage and do the database activation.

In the new version of Sage, I supposed I will have to delete the VAULT and STORE databases in the new server when we go live so that a new database can be created after I run the repair of Sage?

    Hello Reyc,

You should be able to just dbdump/load the data from the test server to the live server..

I don't believe  you are  adding a bunch of new users on the test server?  Am I correct?

when you install 2024 on the new server, you will initially have to setup the vault and store db's.. but once they are created, you can then do dbdump/load from the test server to the live server.. there is no need to delete the vault and store dbs..

Thanks.  In situation where we already have the vault/store databases configured and running in an old server and we need to move the sql server and the shared data files to a new server, what will the process be?   Do we backup the store/vault  databases from old server and load it in the new server and create the VaultOwner SQL user in the new SQL server?
