Problem Installing Sage 300 Premium

I'm trying to install sage 300 from a computer running on Windows 11. The previous installation was ok from our existing computers. Untill this time that I need to install it on a new computer. It reaches up until entering the Program and data Folder Location. After clicking next , the instal wizard just closes and wont proceed. I have tried it on other computer but it still the same problem

    Hi Ron,

I would start by ensuring the new PC can reach the SHARED folder.

    Hi Tascoli,

I have the access of the shared folder prior running the installer. I have tried to run the installer on other workstation and I'm getting the same problem.

Something is screwy with that PC, like stupid antimalware.

  • Hi  what Jay said but is that the Workstation Installer or the Server Installer?  I'm assuming you're running the installer from the \\wssetup\setup.exe location and have copied the program folders from the server to C:\Prog_Sage 300 ERP first?  Also if you already had an attempted workstation install and suspect an error entering the path the first time you could try deleting HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\ACCPAC INTERNATIONAL, INC from the workstation and try installing again.

Finally if you log into the machine as a domain admin and open Event Viewer you should be able to find an event at the time the install was last attempted showing the installer being terminated, and the rule triggered in AppLocker, Defender or the rule tripped in whatever AV/antimalware/  Check your Antimalware portal for events too.  Obviously this isn't normal at all.  If you have an RDS at this site with enough CALs, just push Sage 300 out as a streaming app instead.  Good luck!

    Hi Ron,

The scope of the issue is not really clear. Let me explain based on the details you have sent so far:

    1) The previous installation was ok from our existing computers.

==> based on that, I understand you have installed SAGE 300 on a PC (Windows 11?) as the server which runs successfully, and you installed
SAGE workstation using \\wssetup\setup.exe on PC's that were already defined in the network. And SAGE workstation  runs OK on those
Windows 11 PC's. Does this match correctly what you meant?

    2) I need to install it on a new computer

==> I assume this is a brand new PC running Windows 11 just added to your network. So, it sounds as if your new PC is not correctly setup  , a short check list:

              a) You tested this new PC and it is correctly defined in the network  with all access rights, firewall and anti-virus settings as defined for the
                   existing PC's.

              b) This new PC has the same level of Windows updates as the existing PC's.

              c) You installed SAGE pre-requisites on this new PC.

             d) You defined and tested a ODBC 32 DSN  for the SAGE database on this new PC.

             e) You installed SAGE workstation using \\wssetup\setup.exe  on this new PC.

    3) Error: It reaches up until entering the Program and data Folder Location. After clicking next , the instal wizard just closes and wont proceed

==> you should be able to find errors in the Windows Event logs.

    4) I have tried it on other computer but it still the same problem

==> again, I assume this is another new PC running Windows 11, right ?

    5) What is the version of your SAGE server and the version on the workstations where it works fine?

    Other things to check:
Check that your install software isn't corrupted.
Uninstall (sometimes gets rid of dodgy software causing issues) and reinstall
Why do you have gaps in the name of your folder, this might be a hangover from older versions but that used to be an issue.
