Installation issue on Windows 2008 64-bit Terminal Server

SUGGESTED

Hi,

I have installed Sage ERP Accpac 6.0 on Windows 2008 R2 64-bit Terminal Server.

The server administrator can login and run everything fine. But all other users belonging to the Remote Desktop Users group can login, but cannot start anything. e.g. Clicking on "GL->Chart of Accounts" brings up the small window with a progress bar and the bar just keeps moving but the "Chart of Accounts" window does not start. What is going on and what should I do?

Some details on what I have done so far:

Accpac is installed to C:\Sage\Sage Accpac and data is at C:\Sage\Sage Data

UAC is disabled.

Remote Desktop Users have Write permission on C:\Sage

As administrator, I have run REGACC and the log shows that everything registered successfully.

Logged in as a user, I have tried running wssetup\setup.exe but it fails with a message of "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation". This is followed by a message: "The following error occurred on the file 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Business Objects\Common\3.5\bin\crdb809f.rra'"

Appreciate any help to get this sorted out.

Thanks & Regards,
Ubaidullah Nubar.

Have you tried a DOS command before installation that looks like this:  change user /install

I have corrected failed installations on 2008 R2 servers by running the above command, then do the install, then revert back with the command:  change user /execute

Not sure this is the problem, but would be worth trying.  In my situations, regacc did nothing for me yet the log looked fine. I did not see the exact same errors you mention, but definitely had similar execution issues.

I did that earlier but got the message "Only members of the Administrators group may enable Install Mode."  Perhaps I need to add the users to the Administrators group to complete the install.

Ok. So, I added this user to the Administrators group, but when I run wssetup/setup.exe, it wants to remove the installation. Btw, I had already run wssetup when logged in as administrator. So, where do I go now ?
