Blanket PO error - Sage 300 2012

When I post or try to post a blanket PO I get the error 'This record already exists' when I know that I am just trying to create it.

Does anyone have a clue to this situation?

Fix the next number, somebody entered it manually.

Thanks. Why are the numbers not updating automatically? Is it because I have not completed the previous one (available amount is not zero)?
