Upgrade MS SQL from 2012 to 2016

Hi my client is running Sage 300 2018 on MS SQL 2012. They want to upgrade the MS SQL from 2012 to 2016, keeping the same hostname/IP. What is the impact doing so? i would just need to recheck/redo the ODBC and load the latest dump? any other factor…
