reporting on deleted POs

SUGGESTED

Client wants to include deleted POs in the standard PO Transaction Listing, along with user and delete date, and does not want Audit Logger.  He claims that Tech Support told him that his business partner could “easily add” the delete info to the report.  Since their PO numbers are sequential, I added a formula to see if a number is missing, and if so, present a subreport that looks for deleted POs in PO Audit Headers (POPORAH).  However, AUDTUSER in that table is the person who did Day End, not the person who deleted the record.

If a deletion has not gone through Day End, it is not yet in POPORAH.  Does anyone know where it is, when it no longer exists in POPORH1 & 2, but has not yet hit POPORAH?  If I can find that, it might help - or any other table that would have info about deletions.

Today, frustrated, I called tech support and got the same individual who had spoken with the client, and he said “I didn’t investigate the subject”  and  “I don’t know how easy it would be”.  So the client is left with the impression that this is a no brainer, and we could just explain that it isn’t, but I’d rather solve it.  Thanks in advance for any help!

    HI,

Natively Sage core modules only keep the last user to touch a record - hence the Day End user showing up.  Some records internally  keep the user that created them  - eg POs 'Entered By'. But that is it.  So without Audit logger you will not be able to see who deleted a document.
You can also use Orchid Extender to provide basics audit tracking. Both are Advanced modules.

It has always been this way.

Thanks.  I knew that at one time and was hoping something had changed (like ENTEREDBY which was added to some tables).  But where do you suppose deleted POs are stored after deletion but before Day End?  If I can find that, it might also shed some light.
