Mechanical Shop looking for feedback on PO & Inventory Control System Management using SAGE 300 ERP - 2014

I am looking to make contact with a similar service company that is currently using the SAGE 300 ERP PO & Inventory Control Systems. We are using SAGE 300 ERP AR, AP, & GL but are using a 3rd Party software for our Inventory Control System and Excel (manually) for our PO System. We are looking into integrating all to SAGE 300 ERP. I would like some feedback on how well the SAGE modules worked for the dynamics of a Mechanical Shop. Any recommendations, advice, or issues, as well as any contact information for any one who may be willing to discuss more in detail, would be greatly appreciated.

Which 3rd party software are you using? We recently upgraded from Accpac 5.4 to Sage 300 ERP and thought we could get by without MiSYS (our previous 3rd party Inv mgmt software) but there are lots of glitches and pitfalls.

Hi,

We are currently using LanKar. We have out grown it and need to transition into either SAGE or another system.

I'm currently implementing the inventory module for a manufacturing company at the moment. Many companies do not have the in-house experience to set-up their inventory in a format that allows it to fully integrate with SAGE 300. I would need to know how you have set-up the items in your inventory module.

Huh? I set up the items the way the customer needs them. You can have any characters up to 24 total, and segment them if needed. Most do not use segments.
