Lost another one deal for the lack of this feature. It case anyone didn't notice, Western countries are importing more and manufacturing less. Sage needs to move with the times.

Yes, however that suggestion on the ideas website has been there for years.

Sage don't look at Ideascope. Ironically users can. The "Give Us feedback" option in ERP Help invites every user to see how much Sage values their input: "1,761 Ideas, 18,473 votes, 65 completed".

Sage does look at Ideascope. I've had 3 of my ideas actioned, the most recent one is included in PU3 for 2014. Another one for PJC job deletions will be included in 2016.... Sage do look and they do take action.

Yes to be fair Sage does look and act on some items with some neat little improvements.  However, the substantial and popular or very needed additions appear to have been removed from known plans.  For example, document attachments, copy company setup, mandatory fields, multiple contacts per customer/vendor and workflows are all marked as planned.  No sign of them ever happening.

That's aside from all the other ideas that end users expect in this level of software that aren't even marked as planned.

Fully agree with Steve. Compare the new features between v6 and v6.2. No 'wow' moment, money well spent. Yet again.

Yes, they do look at ideas and implement the easy ones. Different colors by company is nice, but there are by far larger more fundamental gaps in the product that need to be addressed in my opinion, i.e. workflows, web front end, mandatory fields.

Mandatory fields have not been implemented in 2014. They've added an asterix next to some fields that are required. How does Sage know what fields the end user require? That's just a half baked solution and years behind what other products are offering, even within the Sage range.

Which is my next point - why does Sage have this multitude of products? It is impossible to be inovative with all of them. Have X3 as there flagship and use another product or two for the levels below.

The way the deveopment with Accpac is moving forward I fully expect this product to be discontinued in couple of years time.

They have no choice to consolidate their range as this is not sustainable.

Adding to that, good initiatives like the Sage Update Advisor do not work in the Australasia region because it "hasn't been rolled out yet".

Too many products, not enough resources and left hand not knowing what right hand is doing.

We are an importer, where I need to track containers and the only way I have been able to do any of this is to setup PO Optional fields with extra Data I need for this.  Then make up Crystal reports to display it how I need it.  I usually have 1 PO per container which makes it easier to cost but if I have multiple PO's in a container with different suppliers, then I have to manually work out the costs for each based on Volume of each PO.  

I was going to try and make a PO entity with Workflow in CRM and Integrate it to ERP 300 to try and manage the whole shipment/import  process that way.   If it works in anyway, I'll put a post up about it.

Mandatory fields wasn't implemented.  If you read the idea it is not an indicator that was planned.  It was supposed to be the ability to set fields as required through configuration.
