Use invoking session inside XLSM

Sage menu invoked an XLSM file

Inside that XLSM file I want to use the invoking Sage300 session because customer has limited licenses

So do not want to login and make another session with another userid and or have to know user's password etc.

sort of like invoking a macro that inherits session connection; but I am in Excel and doing VBA code.

any helps ? thanks much in advance

No. You cannot cheat the licenses.

not really cheating the licenses. I could run a macro, create an Excel App and then open the XLSM file

just wanted to use the Sage API for the same user that opened the XLSM ; which is no different than opening multiple copies of Sage on one computer except you can use Excel as a 'screen' for Sage300

Change up your process as you described so that your icon runs a macro that runs Excel, opens the XLSM file, and then generates drops Session Object Handle somewhere in the workbook (maybe on a hidden or very hidden sheet). In theory, with the macro still running in the background, the Object Handle is still valid and can be passed along to connect to the same session by the Excel macro code.
