Anyone have clients using the GetRates macro and having an issue with the website it pulls the data from?
It appears the default fx.sauder.ubc.ca site as been down for a few days.
Does anyone have an alternate site we can replace it with?

According to the site they are performing upgrades this month:
February 2024: The Pacific Exchange Rate Service is being upgraded. We apologize for any disruptions.
The data services are fully operational, but ancillary web pages are still undergoing revisions.
The Sauder site also says that they pull their data from the Bank of Canada site and looking there it appears that you can pull the rates in a few different formats:
https://www.bankofcanada.ca/rates/exchange/daily-exchange-rates/
Plus they talk about a Valet API for integrating with applications.
And Tairox has a utility that can facilitate much of this for your client: www.tairox.com/download-rates-for-sage-300-erp-accpac.html
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm aware of the Tairox product. I'd rather just have the macro work without having to sell a new product. I messed around with some of the Bank of Canada url's but can't get it to work in the macro. I think we'll wait and see if Sauder's updates break the macro functionality once they're completed.
I reported this issue to Sage a few days ago. The URL changed to HTTPS instead of HTTP but you simply can't edit the URL in the macro to fix it. Other changes on that webpage effectively broke the macro. Sage confirmed the issue and sent it up to development with high priority. They said they should have an updated macro soon and will post here and a KB article when it's ready. In the meantime our clients have to update the Currency Rates manually but can still use the information on that page: https://fx.sauder.ubc.ca/today.php
Hi John,
Did you get a new macro from Sage? I have a few clients who is also running into this issue.
I called Sage support and they created a Hot Fix for this issue. I see they just posted it on the Announcements forum.
I just tried the hotfix without success. Active X errors, Object Variable errors, etc. Has anyone else tried it? There were no instructions, it's just a new copy of the macro. I haven't opened a case yet, maybe I'm missing a step.
you just have to copy in the new macro and then run it. I've sent it to a number of clients and all reporting that it is working..

the only thing that we have found is that you may have to turn off IE Enhanced Security Configuration.
In addition, since the URL to get the currency rates has been changed to HTTPS, you may also get the following error when trying to run this macro in some servers.
To resolve this error, go to Server Manager – Local Server. Then turn off the IE Enhanced Security Configuration.
More information on the Enhanced Security Configuration can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/developer/browsers/security-privacy/enhanced-security-configuration-faq
Not an IE issue, that is turned off. The macro won't run at all. Sage 300C version 2022 PU1. As soon as I select the new macro to run I get ActiveX component can't create object, followed by several more similar errors referring to ActiveX or variables. After about 20 clicks I get an empty CS3400.rpt
64-bit Excel is not supported.
I think you just solved the issue. They are trying to run on an RDP without Excel installed.
