Important update on future of Sage 300 portal

Hi everyone,

A few months ago at Sage Summit in Las Vegas I shared we were researching the possibility of retiring the portal in the next release. The portal is developed using the Google Web Toolkit which has recently been retired by Google. I received strong feedback from partners, customers and our Product Advisory Council that we should continue to support the portal. There was particular concern around the need to continue to support the Quote to Order functionality in CRM and the Ad Hoc inquiry tool. Based on this feedback we will continue to support the Portal for the next version at least on the Microsoft IE browser. I shared this update at the conference. For reasons unknown it seems some are convinced we will not support the portal in Sage 300 2016. This is incorrect.

Thanks,

  • Is anyone successfully using the portal at this time? When we first upgraded to Sage 300 ERP the accompanying portal was set up and worked fine for several months. Now it will not even load (wheel just spins and spins). Our business partner insists it is a problem with our internal network or servers, but it sounds like there may be a problem with the application itself. Additionally, and possible related?? Our Sage CRM application will suddenly no longer let us create quotes or orders from within CRM. Any feedback out there?

In cases like this you want to restart your CRM server. There are more specific things to restart but servers do benefit from a restart from time to time.
